Personal History Timeline is built and maintained by an independent developer. Because it does not use an expensive code-signing certificate, Microsoft Defender SmartScreen may show warnings when you download the Windows versions and when you first run or install them. This is expected behavior for small, unsigned desktop applications and does not mean the software is unsafe.

How to Download on Windows

  2. Choose the Windows version you prefer (setup.exe or portable.zip).
  3. If your browser or Windows flags the file, look for an option such as Keep → Keep anyway or More info → Keep.

How to Run / Install on Windows

  1. Locate the downloaded file on your computer.
  2. When the blue "Windows protected your PC" SmartScreen window appears, click More info.
  3. Click Run anyway to start the installer or application.
